Friends:
I don't know about you, but I like pizza. I could eat it four out of seven days of the week. Before you think I'm weird, please note that I am not alone. According to pizza statistics from pizzacourses.com, Americans consume about 100 acres of pizza a day, or about 350 slices per second! Also, 93% of all Americans eat at least one pizza per month! Not surprisingly, children prefer pizza to all other lunch and dinner options. I once knew a guy who made pizza his preferred breakfast item. Seriously, we can put away the pizza in this great nation of ours.
Why pizza? Well, it is easy to eat (no utensils), can be delievered almost anywhere, can be eaten hot or cold, and has as much variety as any one food that I know. There are literally hundreds of ways to top a pizza.
There is one thing about pizza that never changes. Ever. What is that one thing? Every pizza has a crust. Thick, thin, no matter, every true pizza has a crust as its foundation.
It is the same in life. Each person is unique. Different ethnicities, different cultures, different languages all give humanity great diversity. However, we need a solid foundation in our life. That foundation, the Bible says, is Jesus Christ. When we build our life upon Him and His Word, we are like the man who builds his house on a rock, a sure foundation. No matter what life throws at it, it never moves off that rock. Christ is the foundation of life that God intends for us. Without Christ, we are like a pizza without a crust: a real mess.
Today, if your life is built upon the foundation of Christ, you are wise. Lean on Him daily. If it is not, it can be. Let Christ be your foundation. How? Give your life to Christ. Acknowledge to God that you're a sinner (you've messed up) in need of Him. Trust Christ, and what He did on the cross for you. He wants to give you a new foundation: Himself. Remember, a life that does not have Christ as its sure foundation is like a house built upon the sand. It will eventually fall apart (see Matthew 7:24-27).
No matter who you are, where you're from, what you look like, you need Jesus to be your foundation. Won't you trust Him today?
Bro. Mike
